What is the difference between pallet cargo and bulk cargo in international air transportation?

  1.Air pallet cargo and pallet specifications。

  According to the provisions of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), there are the following four international standard pallet standards:

  (1)1200mm*1000mm, a rectangle widely used in Europe;

  (2)1200mm*800mm, a rectangle widely used in Europe;

  (3)1140mm*1140mm, the common square in Australia;

International air transportation
  (4)40 inches (1016mm)*48 inches (1219mm) are widely used in the United States。

  In addition to the above four countries (China, Japan, etc.), the commonly used pallet specifications are 1100mm*1100mm。

  When hitting pallets, the goods should not exceed the "length" and "width" of the pallets in principle.。Therefore, the "length" and "width" of pallet goods are generally 0.8—1.2 meters, and the height is usually 1-1.About 5 meters, the volume of a pallet of goods is usually 1-1.About 5 cubic meters (CBM)。

  Therefore, the single volume of the pallet is larger。Pallet cargo should consider the characteristics of the mode of transport, especially by air。Because cabin doors are generally very small, cabin space is also very limited, especially for small aircraft (narrow aircraft).。In general, if it is pallet cargo, it must be transported by large aircraft (wide-body aircraft)。Small aircraft (narrow-body aircraft) cannot be accommodated because the doors of narrow-body aircraft are very small and the single side cannot exceed 0.Eight meters, or it might not fit。

  If it is a full cargo plane transport, there are not many restrictions on the size of a single piece。However, very little cargo was flown。Most tourist destinations, especially small airports or small cities, do not have cargo planes arriving。

  PS: Most air cargo is carried out in the belly of passenger planes。Although the belly space of the aircraft is limited (especially narrow-body aircraft, which may only accommodate more than ten cargo), the capacity of the belly compartment is still considerable due to the large number of passenger aircraft。

  2.Bulk air freight and over-limit transport。

  When we say bulk cargo, we mean small goods one box at a time。In addition to cartons, of course, there are other packaging, such as a bucket of small goods, a bag of small goods, a bundle of small goods and so on。

  It should be noted that small pieces of bulk cargo are not loaded directly onto the aircraft, but these small pieces of cargo are first loaded into a standard specification air container (ULD).。

  The full English ULD is called UnitLoadDevice, meaning containerized equipment, containerized unit。ULD is a standardized container equipment used in the transportation of air cargo (including baggage and mail packages) for the container of air cargo, mainly divided into "air container" and "container board.&Containerized network "two categories, that is, collectively referred to as aviation containerized。Note: Air containers are very different from sea containers。

  The pallet cargo, together with the "air container" and the "container plate" loaded by the air container&"Containerized net" is not the same。Under normal circumstances, pallets can be loaded directly into the aircraft, of course, some pallets are also loaded into the pallet first, and then shipped together with the aviation pallet。Moreover, the bulk cargo that cannot be broken up must be first loaded into air containers or container boards。
